WRP Food Drive to Benefit the York Community Service Association Food Pantry

On Sunday, April 14th, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, Williams Realty Partners will be hosting a food drive to benefit the York Community Service Association Food Pantry at Kennebunk Savings Bank in front of the York Hannaford.

We sat down with Maureen Monsen, Food Pantry Manager, and asked her how she became involved.  Said Monsen, "It's a family thing. My parents ran a food pantry in Massachusetts and then the York Food Pantry when they moved here. YCSA and the York Food Pantry merged and they continued to manage the Food Pantry. The torch was passed to me and now my children assist with shopping."

The pantry currently serves about 80 families a week. When asked if they are in need of volunteers, Monsen said, "We have a great pool of volunteers, but we can sometimes use some extra muscle at different times during the year."

While the YCSA Food Pantry welcomes donations, they often have an overflow of certain goods.  Here is a list of items they do and do not need.

Yes, please:

No, thank you. We always have a surplus:

  • Green beans
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Pasta
  • Peanut Butter
  • Powdered Milk

Please come and visit us with your "yes, please" donations on Sunday, April 14th between 12:00pm-3:00pm at Kennebunk Savings Bank located at 2 Hannaford Drive in York.   If you would like to make a donation but are unavailable on that date, please ship your donations directly to Williams Realty Partners, 4 Marketplace Drive #2, York Maine 03909. (We've provided links to many of the needed items for your convenience.)
